are going to be hotter days, they will be the hottest on the weekend with temperatures in the upper 90s. that's why the national weather service is issuing a excessive heat watch. that's for some of the big advertise, san jose, livermore, you know san francisco is left out of the heat watch as well as the oakland area and fremont. you get the picture. it'll be real hot on sunday and morning especially in the inland bay valleys, the temperatures come up. humidity drops and the fire danger goes off the charts. fog along the coast right now. that fog is pushed over to the east bay hills, temperatures today someplaces a good 15, 16- degrees cooler than yesterday. marine layer last night i -- it's deepening, maybe a couple hundred feet, overnight it deepened more than that. it's deepened about another thousand feet. got up to almost 2,000 and pushed in inland. not only just fog and low clouds but a lot of moist cool airs, the marine layer will pinch down tomorrow. we have a spare the air day. overnight lows in the upper 40s, low 50s. nice looking night. if you are out and about you will need

but you will see 90s inland like today. the fog, you see it hanging in there. pulling up over, you can see the fog here, there is the fog, that was a live shot. you see the fog working its way over there, fog long the coast tonight, dense and drizzle. i mentioned that earlier. the marine layer is compressed. makes visibility harder and gets you drizzle sometimes. that is what we saw this morning. this week, not as warm. temperatures are trending down. a few more high clouds towards the middle of the week. a lot of stuff. well, not a lot of stuff. but many things. high pressure here. no clouds. this is tropical moisture. right there. that is working its way north. that is from a dying tropical storm. that is the kind of thing that could give us thunderstorms. showers and the last thing we need. when i come back at 6:00 p.m. in the broadcast, i will show you the model and how it plays into our wednesday. the forecast for tomorrow morning, there is the fog. the fog is at the coast as it was this morning. it t burns back in the afternoon and temperatures warm. 90s. temperatures around the bay.

and the investigation as we mentioned shut down interstate 680s for more than seven hours. we have new video now from interstate 680s in laverna road. taken 45 minutes ago when the we are kaeudz were pulled off the roads and all of the orange cones were removed opening two southbound lanes of the freeway for the first time since 8:30 this morning. all of the northbound lanes reopened around 1:00 this afternoon. what you are looking at are live pictures of live chopper 2. the traffic is moving well in the northbound direction but there is still an absolute massive traffic jam in the southbound lanes because only two of the five lanes are open. again here's another picture, this was taken earlier this morning. you can kind of compare the two scenes here. this is what it looked like when we were on the air during mornings on 2. you can see there traffic at a standstill and it cometted to look like that for hours. as we showed you a moment ago it still looks like that in the southbound lanes -- stands still and it continued to look like that for hours. >>> this is the second shooting here in the bay are
